Abstract submission

All abstracts and manuscripts must be submitted through ROSA (Responsive Online System for Acta Horticulturae submission and review).
All oral presenters, including invited and keynote speakers, must submit a manuscript for Acta Horticulturae according to the Acta Horticulturae guidelines by 31 July 2027. Abstracts must be submitted by 1 March 2027 for consideration by the Scientific Committee. Authors can decide to submit their abstract for an oral or a poster presentation. Oral presentation slots may become unavailable if the maximum number of presentations is reached. Thus, we recommend submitting your abstract as soon as possible. Presenting authors of abstracts accepted for presentation (both oral/poster) must register for the symposium by 1 June 2027. Failing to register for the symposium will result in your abstract being withdrawn from the symposium program and your manuscript being withdrawn from the Acta Horticulturae symposium proceeding.

• Only abstracts submitted in English will be reviewed. Both British and American English can be used.
• Abstracts must not exceed 300 words.
• Abstracts must not contain tables, pictures or graphs.
• All abbreviations must be spelled out on first use.
• Abstracts should be thoroughly checked for spelling and grammar.

Abstract submission charge

An abstract submission charge is due upon submission of an abstract and applies to the presenting author only. For ISHS Individual members, the abstract submission charge is fully waived. Those who do not hold a user account with ISHS yet:

• Create an ISHS user account first
• After payment and activation of your user account, you can start your abstract submission.

ISHS User Account

Abstracts must always be submitted by the presenting author, using their own personal ISHS user account. Submitting an abstract on behalf of, or using the ISHS user account of, another author is strictly not permitted.

Abstracts must be submitted by 1 March 2027 for consideration by the Scientific Committee. Authors can decide to submit their abstract for an oral or a poster presentation. Oral presentation slots may become unavailable if the maximum number of presentations is reached. Thus, we recommend submitting your abstract as soon as possible.

Acta Horticulturae publication

All oral presenters, including invited and keynote speakers, must submit a manuscript for Acta Horticulturae according to the Acta Horticulturae guidelines by 31 July 2027. Oral presenters who fail to submit a manuscript for publication in Acta Horticulturae may be refused the floor to present their oral presentation. Authors of posters are strongly encouraged to prepare and submit a manuscript for Acta Horticulturae.

ISHS Young Minds Award

During the symposium, two ISHS Young Minds Awards for junior scientists will be given to:
• the best oral presentation given by a junior scientist who is in the same time the presenter and first author of the Acta Horticulturae manuscript.
• the best poster presented by a junior scientist who is first author of the work.

Oral presentations

Oral presentations will be limited to 12 minutes plus 3 minutes per presentation for questions/discussion Keynote oral presentations will be 25 minutes plus 5 minutes per presentation for questions/discussion. We strongly encourage presenters to use electronic methods of presentation such as PowerPoint or Adobe Acrobat. As a guideline, prepare 1 slide per minute of presentation (e.g., for a 12-minute presentation, prepare a 12-slide presentation excluding title and thanks slides). You will be able to upload it to the conference room laptop during registration on day 1. Please, refrain from sharing your presentation at the very last minute, as presentations need to be uploaded to a server and tested for compatibility.

Poster presentations

Poster are not required to be printed. A dedicated session will be organized where each poster will be presented orally, accompanied by a 5-minute presentation with 5 slides.
